TEDWomen2018 Panel Announcement
The panel is confirmed and as good as expected
The TEDxUniversityofLeeds committee is beyond excited to announce that we have all powerful, all female and all amazing panel lined up for our TEDWomen2018 event.
As promised, we will be delivering this epic panel of inspirational women to comment, discuss and engage with the audience about the content from the screened session in relation to their own research, experience and knowledge.
So, without further ado, here they are...
Dr. Annie Wei
Dr. Annie Wei is currently Head of the International Business Division at Leeds University Business School, who received her PhD at Aston University and has been a professor at Leeds University since 2013.
Annie’s main research areas encompass foreign direct investment, international trade and economic development. Annie has been published in a plethora of journals, including the Journal of International Business and Journal of Business Research.
She is also the recipient of best paper award in the Academy of International Business and International Journal of the Economics of Business. Annie has an entirely global perspective of business, previously teaching at the Helsinki School of Economics and Southwest University of Finance and Economics.
She currently serves as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies and Management and Organization Review.
We're beyond excited to have Annie onboard to share her views and opinions with us all on Friday 7th December.

Dr. Kaisa Hinkkainen
Dr Kaisa Hinkkainen has been an academic fellow in Security Studies here at University of Leeds since 2017. After receiving her PhD in 2013 from the University of Essex, Kaisa was appointed lecturer of International Relations at University of Lincoln.
Dr Hinkkainen’s current research interests include terrorism, conflict processes and resolution, natural resources, as well as geographical and quantitative methods with a particular focus on the economic sanctions, child soldiers and peacekeeping.
Again, we cannot wait for Kaisa's input on the screening, and we hope that you guys are just as excited as us!

Prof. Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki
Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki is a professor of International Business at Leeds University Business School. She is leading the Northern Advanced Research Training Initiative (NARTI), a network of 18 Universities in the North of England specializing in advanced methodological training for doctoral and early career researchers. She is also co-chair of the International Business/ International Management Special Interest Group of the British Academy of Management (BAM).
Emmanuella’s research concentrates on how small and medium-sized companies and family businesses internationalize. She also studies the use of qualitative methods in international business research. Her long-standing interest in art history has motivated her to explore the interface of arts and business practices.
Like her colleagues, we are absolutely honoured to have Emmanuella as part of our spectacular panel and cannot wait for her insights.
